- Wesleyan wasted little time getting on the board, scoring just 2:41 into the first period to take a 1-0 lead. Tyler Levine capitalized on a breakaway opportunity.
- The Spartans knotted the game 1-1 at the 14:21 mark when
Anthony Tzveyn tucked the puck inside the right pipe.
- AU added a tally when
Jacob Holmers blasted a shot home from the top of the left face off circle, making it 2-1 at the 17:04 mark.
- The Spartans extended their lead to 3-1 after
Connor Chilton collected a loose puck behind the Cardinal goal.
Larry Jungwirth one-timed Chilton's pass into the net with 52 seconds remaining in the frame.
- Wesleyan answered at the 16:41 mark of the second period when Walker Harris redirected a shot by Andy Espinoza from the right faceoff circle, cutting the deficit to one (3-2).
- With an empty net and an extra skater, Wesleyan found the equalizer with 1:05 left in the game.
