Spartans lead wire to wire in victory over Gusties

The Aurora University men's hockey team grabbed an early lead and made it hold up as the Spartans won a non-conference matchup at Gustavus Adolphus College 4-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU took an early lead on Gustavus when Aaron Roschinsky scored 3:29 into the contest.
- Jake Gwillim made the lead hold up as the teams went to the first intermission.
- Just as they did in the opening period, AU struck early in the second. Riley Doyon scored with an assist from Larry Jungwirth one minute into the second period and AU led 2-0.
- Gustavus scored at 7:24 to cut the AU lead down to one.
- A short time later with the teams on 4v4, AU pushed their lead back to two. Dylan Rauh scored the eventual game winner with assists from Drew Doyon and Roberts Baranovskis.
- AU took the 3-1 lead into the final intermission.
- With just over seven minutes left in the game, Drew Doyon gave AU a 4-1 lead. He was assisted by Baranovskis and Rauh on the play.
- Gustavus added a late power play goal in the final minute to conclude the games scoring.
- AU was victorious for the eighth time on the season, 4-2.
