The Aurora University men's hockey team opened the 2019 portion of their schedule at Finlandia University on Friday night and fell to the Lions 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the final minutes of the first period, Finlandia scored to take a 1-0 lead into intermission.
- Midway through the second period, AU found themselves down 2-0 which remained the score heading to the final intermission,
- Early in the third, 2:40 into the final period,
Drew Doyon scored for the Spartans.
Larry Jungwirth and
Cameron Beaudry assisted on the goal.
- In the final seconds of the game with a power play and an extra skater with an empty net, Spartan
Tim Faulkner rattled the pipe but the puck bounced out and the Spartans fell 2-1.
