Spartans drop low scoring NCHA contest at Finlandia

The Aurora University men's hockey team opened the 2019 portion of their schedule at Finlandia University on Friday night and fell to the Lions 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the final minutes of the first period, Finlandia scored to take a 1-0 lead into intermission.
- Midway through the second period, AU found themselves down 2-0 which remained the score heading to the final intermission,
- Early in the third, 2:40 into the final period, Drew Doyon scored for the Spartans. Larry Jungwirth and Cameron Beaudry assisted on the goal.
- In the final seconds of the game with a power play and an extra skater with an empty net, Spartan Tim Faulkner rattled the pipe but the puck bounced out and the Spartans fell 2-1.
