The Aurora University women's lacrosse team defeated the Augustana College Vikings 10-9 on Wednesday night, defeating the Vikings for the first time in the program's young history.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU and Augustana traded goals early as Andrea Colford and Kristina Krokosz scored for the Spartans.
- With 12:12 left in the first, Taylor Arcivar gave the Spartans their first lead of the night.
- Goals from AU's Marina Kanner and Kerli Kuuseoks gave the Spartans a 5-4 lead heading to halftime.
- 1:09 into the second-half, Colford gave AU a 6-4 lead.
- Augustana tied the game 6-6 with 24:46 to play in the second.
- AU responded with three straight goals from Janne Brown, Marina Kanner and Colford to lead 9-6 midway through the final half.
- Augustana later scored back to back goals to pull back to within one at 9-8.
- Colford scored her fourth of the night with 8:26 left to push the Spartan lead back to two at 10-8.
- With four minutes to play, Augustana scored to get back to down one but the tally would be the final of the game.
- The Spartan defense forced a turnover with 1:53 to play and was able to run out the game clock and win 10-9.
