The Aurora University men's lacrosse team led early and ran off to a big lead in a home Midwest Lacrosse Conference contest with Cornell College, AU won 16-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trevor McNamara scored the games first two goals giving AU a 2-0 lead.
- After a Cornell tally,
Gavin Hardersen scored twice in 1:16 late in the quarter to give the Spartans a 4-1 first quarter lead.
- McNamara,
JK Torres and
Nick Glaser scored in the second as AU went to halftime leading 7-3.
- The third quarter saw the Spartans shutout Cornell and score four times to lead 11-3 after three quarters.
- The Spartans continued their scoring run in the fourth and with five goals in the first 10 minutes, the Spartans led 16-3 and the scoring run was at 10-0.
- Cornell added three goals in the final 5:12 but the lead was plenty for AU as they went on to win 16-6.
