Spartans lead wire to wire in win over Titans

The Aurora University men's lacrosse team never trailed as they knocked off the Titans of Illinois Wesleyan on Monday night 13-9 in Bloomington, Illinois.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spartans Michael Goedderz and JK Torres scored unassisted goals in the first quarter to give AU a 2-0 lead.
- AU answered a IWU goal with two more tallies early in the second from Joey Lucchesi and Torres.
- Goedderz added his second of the game later in the quarter to put the Spartans up 5-2.
- Just before the half, Torres completed his hat trick to put the Spartans up 6-2 going into the intermission.
- Torres added his fourth of the night and Lucchesi scored his second but the Spartans were out scored 4-2 and led 8-6 heading to the fourth.
- A pair of man-up goals aided the Spartans in the fourth with AU tallying five goals enroute to a 13-9 in. Lucchesi scored twice and was joined by goals from Joel Ebel, Ben Arends and Joe Brandolino as AU avenged a season ending loss in 2017 with the victory.
