Spartans open NACC season with road win over IIT

The Aurora University women's volleyball team opened the 2018 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference schedule with a dominating 3-0 win at Illinois Institute of Technology on Wednesday night.

FINAL SCORE: Aurora University 3, Illinois Tech 0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-15)
LOCATION: Illinois Institute of Technology - Chicago, Illinois
RECORDS: Aurora University 4-4 overall and 1-0 NACC; Illinois Tech 1-7 overall and 0-1 NACC

HOW IT HAPPENED -
- AU hit .310 in the opening set, leading throughout before winning 25-11.
- The Spartans jumped out to a large lead in the second set before a late IIT rally closed the score. AU held on to win 25-21.
- The third set was close with the Spartans leading 7-6.
- A 5-0 AU run with Katie Vonda at the service line gave the Spartans room they needed as they ran away with a 25-15 win.
