HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first period saw a wide open style of play from both sides.
- Marian broke the scoreless tie midway through the first at 10:54.
- AU trailed 1-0 heading to the first intermission.
- The second period saw neither team score with the Spartans having the only two power play opportunities of the middle session.
- In the third, the chances came for the Spartans but they just couldn't sneak one past the Sabre keeper.
- AU fell 1-0 despite out shooting Marian 24-20.
