The Aurora University women's volleyball team dropped a closely played five set match at Dominican University 3-2 on Wednesday night. With other results around the conference, the Spartans were able to lay claim to the 2019 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship (co-champions) and will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming NACC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED -
- The Spartans dropped the opening set 25-17 with errors in the middle of the set building a deficit to large to overcome.
- AU led 17-10 in the second set but had to with stand a furious Star rally which found the set tied 24-24.
- A Dominican service error and kill from
Imani Freeman for the final two points gave AU a 26-24 win.
- AU built a lead again in the third set and fought off a late rally to win 25-20 and take a 2-1 match lead.
- The Spartans trailed 15-6 in the fourth set before running off eight straight points to pull within one at 15-14.
- AU was unable to grab the lead and fell 25-20 and saw the match go to a fifth set.
- The Spartans trailed throughout the fifth set before falling 15-6.
