Spartans wrap up weekend series with Falcons

The Aurora University men's hockey team scored three straight goals in the first and second periods but would go on to tie Concordia University Wisconsin 3-3 on Saturday night in Wisconsin.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans found themselves trailing for the first time on the weekend when CUW scored with 4:52 left in the first period.
- AU answered with a power play goal from Riley Doyon with just eight seconds left in the opening period.
- 43 seconds into the second period the Spartans lit the lamp again. Doyon assisted on the Connor Chilton goal.
- A short time later and on the power play once again the Spartans added to their lead.  Chilton scored his second goal of the period with Doyon getting a point again and Adam Keyes also adding a helper.
- Later in the second the Spartans successfully killed off a 5v3 that included a 5 minute penalty kill.
- CUW would score just before the second period ended.
- Heading to the third period, AU led 3-2.
- CUW tied the game 4:37 into the third period.
- The teams played out the third period and five minute overtime but remained tied.
