Spartans topple the Tommies

The Aurora University men's hockey team wrapped-up their weekend series in Minnesota with a 2-0 win against the St. Thomas University Tommies.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU was able to convert on a power play just 8:58 into the game when Adam Keyes found the back of the net, assisted by Roberts Baranovskis and Braydon Sampson.
- The Spartans out-shot the Tommies 15-5 in the first period, but could net just one goal.
- AU would continue to apply offensive pressure through the second period, tacking on another 13 shots, but the game would remain 1-0.
- Jack Jaunich would give the Spartans a two goal advantage late in the third period, when he slid one past the Tommies' goalie, assisted by Conner Chilton.
- AU would go on to win 2-0.
