Spartans sweep tri-match

The Aurora University men's volleyball team swept both matches in the AU Tri-Match, defeating Marian University 3-0 and Loras College 3-2.

MATCH ONE SCORE: Aurora University 3, Marian University 0 (25-19, 27-25, 25-18)
MATCH TWO SCORE: Aurora University 3, Loras College 2 (25-21, 20-25, 25-19, 21-25, 16-14)

MATCH ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans led from the first point and won easily 25-19
- In the second set, AU fell behind early. The Spartans continued to trailed 22-19.
- The Spartans rallied to tie the game at 25-25 and then scored the final two points to win 27-25.
- In the third set, AU pulled away midway through and led 17-13.
- The Spartans continued to pull away and won 25-16.

MATCH TWO
HOW IT HAPPENED

- After the first set was tied 8-8, AU began to pull away. The Spartans went on to win 25-21.
- AU trailed throughout the second set and fell 25-20.
- The third set saw the Spartans lead after a 3-3 tie and go on to win 25-19.
- The fourth set played out just as the previous sets with Loras controlling and winning the fourth set 25-21 and forced a deciding fifth set,
- The fifth set was tight with the teams going point for point.
- AU won the last two points with the match finishing on a Jack Fischer kill.
