The Aurora University men's lacrosse team locked down on defense in the final three quarters and ran away to a 13-5 victory over the Augustana College Vikings on Wednesday night at the Spartan Athletic Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU trailed 3-1 midway through the first quarter.
- Over a span of 1:37, AU took a 4-3 lead with a goal from Kellen Moczysnki (
Jameson Morrison assist) and two from
Josh Boyko (Moczynski assist).
- Augustana tied the game at 4-4 just before the quarter ended.
- Moczynski opened the second quarter scoring 1:05 in with an assist from
Nic Kruzlic.
- After Augustana scored a man-up goal 33 seconds later the AU defense buckled down.
- As the Spartan defense did not allow Augustana much room and no goals over the final 43:22 of the game, the offense took advantage.
- Moczynski scored his third of the night with 12:09 on the clock. The eventual game winning goal came from a Kruzlic pass.
- AU added two more goals in the quarter from
Jameson Morrison and
Harrison Canaday to take an 8-5 lead into halftime.
- The Spartans scored three times in the third quarter and twice in the fourth for the 13-5 score.
- The big story was the defense though as they forced Augustana to many shots from well outside the desired scoring area and also caused 12 second-half turnovers, nine coming in the fourth quarter.
- AU remained unbeaten on the season with the 13-5 win.
