The Aurora University women's basketball team used a 26-1 first quarter run to run away and defeat the visiting Rockford University Regents on Saturday evening on Lancaster Court in Thornton Gymnasium. AU won by a final score of 97-38.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans started off the contest very slow and with four minutes played, trailed 3-2.
- A pair of free throws from
TyAnn LeGrand gave the Spartans a lead and started what would end the quarter as a 26-1 run in the last 5:35.
- Seven Spartans scored in the opening quarter led by 10 from
Julie Galauner.
- AU led 28-4 after one quarter.
- The second quarter saw the Spartans build on their lead with a
Meija Rabi lay-up just before the half giving AU a 48-12 halftime lead.
- AU went 6-of-9 from three-point range in the third quarter and when
Bailey Golden dropped the final three of the quarter, the Spartans led 76-26.
- The Spartans had all 15 dressed players play 10 or more minutes in the game with 14 of 15 scoring.
- AU would go on to defeat Rockford 97-38.
