The Aurora University women's basketball team saw their comeback fall short after a late rally by the home team put the game out of reach on Tuesday evening in River Forest, Illinois.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans and Stars traded baskets early in the first quarter and the game was tied 5-5 with 6:10 to play.
- Dominican would close out the remainder of the quarter on an 8-3 run.
- AU started the second quarter on a 15-0 run which put them ahead 23-18 with four minutes left in the half.
- Julie Galauner led the Spartans with nine first half points.
- AU trailed Dominican 28-27 at halftime. 
- The Spartan offense struggled to find a rhythm in the third quarter as they were held to eight points. 
- Dominican held a 42-36 lead going into the fourth quarter
- Spartans hit three point shots on three straight possessions to get back within four with five minutes to play in regulation 
- Crystal Rios connected on consecutive thee point attempts to bring her point total to eight. 
- Dominican continued to hit shots throughout the quarter to close out the victory by the score 73-57.
