The Aurora University women's basketball team dropped a close contest with Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon, falling in a battle with the Falcons 86-78.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans trailed by 12 (20-8) with 2:35 to go in the first quarter.
- Three three-point field goals from
Julie Galauner fueled a 15-4 AU run to end the quarter.
- After the first, AU trailed 24-23.
- A jumper from
Meija Rabi gave AU their first lead to start the second and when
TyAnn LeGrand knocked down a three ball, the Spartans would then lead for the rest of the half.
- AU led 42-39 going into halftime.
- The Spartans were out-scored 8-0 to start the third quarter and trailed by eight before
Allie Reichert hit a half court three just before the end of the third.
- After three, AU trailed 66-61.
- Building on the momentum from the Reichert bucket, the Spartans began the fourth in a 9-0 run with three point plays from
Sydni Olson and
Karissa King, and a three from Galauner.
- Turnovers and fouls, lots of foul calls slowed the Spartan momentum though as CUW rallied from the free-throw line.
- The Spartans would fall by a final score of 86-78.
