A late rally from the Aurora University men's basketball team in the second-half came up just short as the Spartans dropped a Tuesday night NACC contest 79-71.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans grabbed an early 7-5 lead on a Will Hrubes jumper.
- An 11-2 run followed from the hosts had AU down 16-9 with 14:30 left in the opening half.
- AU got back to within four (24-20) after a Hrubes dunk and Justin Wierzgac free throw with just over 8:30 left in the first.
- The Spartans trailed as the teams went to halftime 46-31.
- As the game approached six minutes left, AU trailed 70-50.
- AU would storm back though and with 22 seconds left in the game, AU trailed 76-71 following a 21-5 run.
- The Spartans came up just short though as they fell to CUC 79-71.
