HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans and Alverno played a high scoring first quarter, trading leads throughout with AU taking a 26-22 advantage after the opening 10 minutes.
- The high scoring continued in the second quarter with the teams going to halftime tied 45-45.
- Scoring continued at a high pace in the third quarter but the Spartans would trail by as many as nine points.
- After three quarters, AU trailed 71-64.
- The fourth quarter saw the Spartan rally begin early.
- AU opened the first seven minutes on a 20-2 run and led by 11 at 84-73.
