The Aurora University women's hockey team opened the 2020-2021 season at home with a 7-1 loss to Adrian College at Fox Valley Ice Arena.

- The Spartan penalty kill stood strong in the first period by killing off a pair of Bulldog power plays.
- The game remained scoreless going into the first intermission.
- AU goalie Chiara Pfosi was strong in net, stopping all 18 shots sent her direction.
- Abbie Grias put Adrian ahead with a goal early in the second period
- After adding two more goals, Adrian took a 3-0 lead into the second intermission.
- On a 5v3 power play, Spartan Lexie Martinez put the Spartans on the board as she stuffed home a rebound 3:34 into the third period.
- The goal pulled the Spartans within three at 4-1.
- Adrian answered and went on to defeat the Spartans 7-1.
