Rashad Johnson who scored the first 10 points of the game as AU led 10-5.
- First collegiate baskets from
Brooks Schoon and
Jonathon Reid pushed the AU lead to 19-9 just over six minutes into the game.
- After seeing their lead disappear and trail 25-24 midway through the half, AU went on another run.
- A three from Ha'Ashim Keys with 26 seconds left in the half gave AU an 11-point lead at 46-35.
- AU saw their lead shrink and eventually trailed the Stars for a good portion of the second-half.
- A pair of
Rashad Johnson free-throws with 7:27 to play gave the Spartans a 77-75 lead.
- The free-throws sparked a 20-3 AU run as the Spartans went on to win 95-80.
