The Aurora University women's basketball team were victorious in their season opener, defeating Dominican University 99 to 67, behind a game high 30 points from Julie Galauner. The Spartans strong start led to them never trailing in the game.

- AU got out to a quick start in the first 5 minutes, going up by a score of 10-4.
- Sophomore guard Victoria Perry led the Spartans in scoring in the first with seven points.
- AU led 20-15 at the end of the first.
- In the second quarter, AU got hot from three, shooting 50% in the quarter from beyond the arc.
- The lead grew in the second quarter for the Spartans, outscoring Dominican 30-10.
- Senior guard Julie Galauner led all scoring in the second quarter with 17 points.
- The second half started with a couple more quick buckets from Julie Galauner, both assisted by Angela Cabalang.
- In the third quarter Dominican fought back, closing the lead by outscoring AU 22-21.
- Crystal Rios had her highest scoring quarter in the fourth with eight, pushing the Spartans further ahead.
- Freshman guard Sam Barrett assisted on three fourth quarter baskets, pushing her total for the game to six.
- In the fourth quarter the Spartans were back on track, with 28 points and a team 62.5% from three.
- The AU bench was especially strong this afternoon, outscoring Dominican 38-13.
