The Aurora University women's hockey team celebrated senior day for the inaugural women's hockey class before taking to the ice and defeating the Foresters of Lake Forest College 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A back and forth opening period saw the Spartans strike first with just over six minutes to play.
- Seniors
Olivia Matson and
Lexie Martinez combined with Matson lighting the lamp off a Martinez assist.
- AU took a 1-0 lead to intermission with senior goalie
Chiara Pfosi stopping the four shots on goal in the session.
- In the second, neither team managed to find a way to get the puck past the opposing goalie.
- AU and LFC both went 0-of-2 on the power play in the second.
- With AU leading 1-0 approaching the later half of the third, LFC managed to tie the game 1-1 with 6:21 to go.
- But the Spartans answered right back. 1:23 later and with just under 5 minutes left in the game, sophomore
Mak Cooke put the Spartans back in front.
- The game winning goal was unassisted.
- AU's defense and Pfosi held strong in the final 4:58 to post the Spartans third consecutive victory, 2-1.
