- The Spartans continued to control the game and tempo but the score remained 1-0 after one period.
- In the second, both teams had chance but with less than five minutes to play, the score remained 1-0 LFC.
- With 3:53 left in the second, Spartan Stephanie Schmunk scored her first collegiate goal to tie the game. Seniors Olivia Matson and Lexie Martinez assisted on the goal.
- AU and LFC went to the second intermission tied 1-1.
- 53 seconds into the third period having just finished a penalty kill, the Spartans took the lead.
- Olivia Matson scored the go ahead tally with an assist from Lexie Martinez.
- With just under nine minutes to play (8:37), the Spartans expanded their lead to 3-1.
- Freshman Julianna Gallenero scored her first collegiate goal, the eventual game winning goal on an assist from Matson.
