The Aurora University men's hockey team debuted for the first time in 2021 and was victorious in a 6-3 final score over Trine University, backed by a trio of goals in the second period.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans came out firing with a quick goal from
Brendan Blair in the fifth minute of the game.
- Spartan junior forward
Connor Chilton followed that up with a power-play goal halfway through the period. He was assisted by
Jack Jaunich.
- As the first period wound down, Trine closed the lead with a goal.
- Trine tied the game with a goal in the sixth minute of the second period to make the score 2-2.
- Aurora fought back quickly with a
Nate Keeley goal assisted by
Daniel Menges and
Connor Smith.
- The Spartans quickly poured in another goal to go up 4-2.
Jack Jaunich scored and was assisted by
Adam Keyes.
- AU's
Larry Jungwirth scored at the end of the 2nd period to push the Spartans to a 5-2 lead.
- At the start of the 3rd, Trine scored a goal to cut the Spartan lead to 5-3.
