HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans would jump out to a 12-2 lead to start the game against the Regents.
- Rockford would start to chip away at the AU lead and make 16-13 AU at the 15 minute mark in the 1st half.
- Neither team would score for the 3 minutes until
Ha'ashim Keys hit a three-point shot to extend the Spartan lead to six.
- AU would get a stop and
Rashad Johnson would hit another three on the next possession making it 22-13 Spartans.
- Again the Regents would have to chip away slowly at the Spartan lead.
- With 4 minutes left in the 1st half Rockford had their first lead 37-36.
- The lead would be traded multiple times before the end of the half.
- Rockford started to pull away in the final minutes of the half to take a 53-44 lead into the locker room.

Shamar Pumphrey would hit a three-pointer with 16 minutes left in the 2nd half to tie the game at 58.
- AU would see their biggest lead in the 2nd half with 11 minutes left in the game when they were up eight at 78-70.
- Rockford would manage to retake the lead with nine minutes remaining.
- AU would threaten to take the lead a couple times in the final minutes, but Rockford would hold them off and pull away with free throws.
