The Aurora University men's hockey team and Lions of Finlandia University combined for 19 penalties spanning 68 minutes as the Spartans won in blowout fashion 10-3.

- AU won the opening faceoff, three shots on net in 59 seconds and led 1-0. Jacob Brockman lit the lamp from
Jack Jaunich.
- 6:27 into the first, AU took the first of what would be a penalty riddled contest and Finlandia took advantage scoring 1:23 in to tie the score.
- AU went to their first power play a short time later and regained the lead at 2-1.
Adam Keyes scored the first of his hat trick with assists to Giovanni Procopio and Jake Code.
- Late in the third, the Spartans had just killed a 5 on 3 when Finlandia scored to tie the game while AU was killing a 5 minute major. The goal came at 18:34.
- Just 26 seconds later and still on the PK,
Matt Weber scored short-handed with Jake Onstott assisting.
- The Spartans took the 3-2 lead to intermission.
- 2:08 into the second and eight seconds into being back to even strength, the Spartans took a 4-2 lead. Code from Procopio gave AU their largest lead of the game.
- Just over a minute later, a Finlandia player took some liberties and found himself on the end of a two minute minor, five minute major and game misconduct award.
- Hassan Akl wasted little time in making the Lions pay, putting AU up 5-2 with assists from
Dane Hirst and Jacob Brockman.
- With 3:53 left in the second, a Spartan found himself on the same combination and an early trip to the shower.
- Finlandia would score a power play goal and AU led 5-3 which was the score going to the second intermission.
- In the third period, over a span of 5:40, the Sartans would score five times and build a 10-3 lead.
- Four of the five goals were even strength and one on the power play.
- Goals in the third came off the sticks of
Adam Keyes and
Jack Jaunich twice each and the power play Jaden Condotta.
- Seven different Spartans handed out helpers in the scoring barrage.
- Spartan netminder Kolby Thornton only had to make two saves in the third as AU won 10-3.
