Spartans defeat Red Devils in midweek battle

The Aurora University women's basketball team hosted Eureka College in a non-conference match-up Wednesday afternoon. The Spartans outscored the Red Devils 45-17 in the third quarter, controlling the game in the fourth and winning 98-63.

How it happened
 - The first-quarter saw the Spartans and Red Devils trade leads throughout.
 - AU battled with 2:11 to play and pulled an 18-13 lead behind six points by Eliot Dojutrek
 - With less than 5 minutes remaining in the second quarter, the Spartans went a 10-0 run fueled by points from Jaylah Mays, Crystal Rios, and Macy Kocen to lead 36-22.
 - The Spartans headed into halftime leading 40-29.
 - To start the third quarter, the Spartans continued to out shoot the Red Devils going on a 16-6 run to extend their lead 56-35. 
 - Gabby Moore and Kylie Fischbach both tallied buckets to finish the third quarter leading 85-46. 
 - AU continued to control the tempo in the final quarter to secure the 98-63 victory. 
- Spartan Gabrielle Wolff recorded a career high 18 points.
