Spartan men victorious in 2022 Toys for Tot game

The Aurora University men's hockey team hosted the fifth annual Toys for Tots "Teddy Bear Toss" on Saturday afternoon against Lawrence University. The Spartans got in the winning column with a 4-0 shutout over the Vikings.

How it happened
- The Spartans came out fast against Lawrence scoring 3:35 into the game on a Lukas Sedlacek goal. Hassan Akl and Jaden Condotta had the assists.
- Midway through the period, the Spartans took advantage of a power play. Adam Keyes scored on an assist from Gio Procopio
- AU led 2-0 going into the first intermission. 
- The Spartans controlled the second period but would not manage to extend their lead until 3:30 left to play. Tyler Pang scored with an assist from Jake Code
- To start the third period, both the Spartans and Vikings were down a man resulting in 4v4 play.
- 39 seconds into the period, Hassan Akl found the back of the Viking net on an assist from Matt Weber.
- AU controlled the remainder of the period keeping the Vikings from getting the puck past AU's Tanner Marshall
- The Spartans completed the 4-0 shutout.
