The Aurora University men's volleyball team battled the Purple Raiders from the University of Mount Union, winning 3-0 (27-25, 25-22, 26-24) on Friday night.

- The Spartans and Purple Raiders went back and forth the entire match with a lead never getting larger than four points on the night.
- In the opening set, AU took a 14-11 lead and continued to control the lead until the visitors closed the gap and tied the set 24-24.
- Thomas Kovanic and James Karwin both knocked down kills to win the opener 27-25.
- The second set saw 17 tie scores throughout the 25-22 AU win. 
- Errors, attack and service played a big factor in the set but the Spartans took a 2-0 lead.
- The third and what would be final set was much like the first two, tight throughout.
- The Spartans led by two twice with the third two point lead being the 26-24 final score.
- John McCormack came up strong in the final set with a perfect five for five in his attacks.
