- Following that lead, BU rallied to take the lead and won the set 25-20.
- A 4-0 AU run early on in the second gave the Spartans a 9-7 advantage with a big kill from Solomon Dial in the rally.
- But AU would fall behind shortly after and drop the set 25-17.
- The third set saw the Spartans play from behind throughout and fall 25-19.
