- Both teams hit over .300 in the five set thrilling match that saw four of the five sets score be just two points difference.
- MSOE started off fast in the opening set leading 3-0 before the Spartans roared back to lead 11-7.
- AU led late before MSOE rallied to go ahead 21-20.
- The opening set went extra time before a
Thomas Kovanic kill ended in a 28-26 Spartan win.
- AU again led for most of the second set but a late MSOE rally and a 14-4 run tied the match at 1-1.
- As had been the case, AU led big early in the third set before MSOE worked back into the set before AU won 26-24.
- The fourth set was tied early and the Spartans expanded their lead to 21-17.
- But MSOE scored eight of the final 10 points to tie the match at 2-2 with a 25-23 win.
- The fifth and final set was just like the fourth set, a back and forth thriller.
- AU fell in the fifth set 15-13 and dropped the exciting match 3-2.
