How it happened
Game One
- Pitchers dominated the early innings with the first AU hit coming from Dylan White in the fourth and he was the first base runner in the game to reach second base.
- The Spartan offense broke through in the fifth inning, with four singles from Nico Bermeo, Jacob Ambuel, Nick Baldassano and Corey Vondra along with a perfectly executed squeeze from Jett Wedekind led to three AU runs.
- The was more than enough for AU starter Jack Fisher as he was dominant on the day. Fisher allowed just four base runners with two singles, a hit by pitch and error. None of the Sabre runners advanced past first base. He would finish with 10 strikeouts on the afternoon.
- In the eighth, AU added an insurance run with Justin Sartori singling and later scoring on a Nico Bermeo single.
- When Fisher struck out the final hitter of the game, he completed the shutout with his 10th k.

How it happened
Game Two
- The Spartans got started on offense quicker in game two, scoring twice in the second inning.
- Four singles with Jacob Ambuel driving in Justin Sartori and Nick Baldassano driving in Collin Meinert.
- In the fourth inning, Jacob Ambuel doubled with one out and moved to third on a laser base hit off the bat of Sean Rivera. With two outs, the two pulled off a first and third play and AU now led 3-0.
- AU starting pitcher Nick Malmberg scattered four hits through the first six innings while keeping the Sabres scoreless.
- In the bottom of the sixth, a one out single from Meinert was followed by a dropped fly ball in left off the bat of Nico Bermeo. On the second pitch to Jacob Ambuel, Ambuel unleashed a long three-run home run to left field and AU led 6-0.
- The game remained 6-0 AU through 7-1/2 innings. Four walks to start the bottom of the eighth pushed across one run. After a pitching change, Corey Vondra laced a single to left center and AU led 9-0 with Rivera and Ambuel scoring. After Wedekind struck out attempting to end the game with a three-run home run , Dylan White singled to center to score Nick Baldassano and bring on the mercy rule ending.
- AU won 10-0.
