Spartans win streak comes to an end

The Aurora University softball team traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a conference matchup against No. 15 Concordia University Wisconsin. The Spartans ten game win streak came to an end after AU fell to CUW 3-2 (9 inn.) in game one and 11-3 (6 inn.) in game two.

How it happened
GAME ONE 
- The Spartans found themselves down one early in the second with a solo home run.
- Both pitchers kept the opposing offenses off balance through the first half of the game. Spartan Hannah Tomasko was dealing, only allowing two hits in five innings.
- In the top of the fifth, Lexi Rayborn tied the game up with a solo home run.
- With two outs in the bottom of the sixth, CUW would capitalize on an error to take a 2-1 lead.
- The Spartans loaded the bases in the top of the seventh but would only bring one across. A wild pitch would bring in pitch runner Emma Bachio and the Spartans tied the game 2-2.
- Tomasko continued to deal, keeping the CUW hitters off balance in the bottom of the seventh. 
- The game headed into extra innings tied 2-2.
- In the top of the ninth, the Spartans threatened when Rayborn reached on a CUW error to start the inning but were unable to push a run across.
- A Falcons solo home run ended the game with a 3-2 AU loss.

How it happened
GAME TWO
- The Spartans jumped out to an early lead in the first with an Ashley Talaga two-run home run.
- CUW took a 5-2 lead, scoring five on five hits with one being a three-run home run. 
- The Falcons would extend their lead in the second on a two-run home run.
- With two outs in the bottom of the third, CUW would score two runs with two outs to lead 9-2.
- The Spartans would bring one across in the top of the fifth. Jemma Fiehweg would score on a sac fly from Tyler Chambers. 
- The Falcons responded with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning and the Spartans fell behind 10-3.
- An RBI single in the bottom of the sixth would end the game and the Spartans would drop the match up 11-3.
