The Aurora University Spartan softball team hosted St. Norbert College for a Sunday afternoon NACC doubleheader. The Spartans swept the Green Knights with both games having a final score of 9-0 (5 inn.).

GAME ONE
- The Spartans wasted no time scoring in the first. With two outs,
Jemma Fiehweg scored on a single from
Lexi Rayborn.
Tyler Chambers followed with a double to left center to score Rayborn and the Spartans led 2-0.
- In the bottom of the third, the AU bats awoke in a big way. The Spartans would bring in 7 on RBI hits from
Tyler Chambers,
Abbey Miller,
Jordan Seyfried,
Josephine Lytton (triple), and
Jemma Fiehweg to push the AU lead 9-0.

Hannah Tomasko set down the Green Knights only allowing four hits while striking at nine and the Spartans celebrated the 9-0 mercy rule win in five innings.

- The Spartans jumped out early again in game two.

Josephine Lytton started the inning with a lead-off walk. The Spartans then took advantage of two green knight fielding errors that allowed Lytton and
Jemma Fiehweg to score.
- With no outs and one runner on, Spartan
Lexi Rayborn hit a two run bomb that extended AU's lead 4-0.
- In the second,
Tyler Chambers doubled in Rayborn and Talaga for a 6-0 AU lead.
- The Spartans added three big runs in the bottom of the fourth to bring the mercy rule into play. With one out,
Jemma Fiehweg tripled to right center to get the rally started. She scored on a single from
Ashley Talaga.
- Rayborn followed with an RBI double and
Shelby Linn singled through the left side to score pitch runner
Erin Simmons.
- Spartan starter
Rylee Campbell would toss four innings allowing only two hits and striking out five. Freshman Jordan Spencer made her first appearance and shut down the Green Knights in the five-inning mercy rule win.
