Spartans grind out NACC win against Green Knights

The Aurora University women's volleyball team notched another Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory on Saturday afternoon in front of their alumni, defeating the St. Norbert College Green Knights 3-0 (25-22, 30-28, 25-18).

How it happened
- AU came out swinging and led 15-4 in the first set behind five aces from Celeste Cozzoni.
- The visitors though were not going away quietly as the cut the AU lead to one at 20-19.
- Cozzoni got AU back under way with her sixth ace of the set which was followed by kills from Lulu Torres, Kate Poellmann and Dani Lauer.
- The Spartans won the opening set 25-22.
- The second set was near opposite as SNC got out to an early 9-3 lead.
- AU Head Coach James Seitelman had some encouraging words that inspired the Spartans.
- A kill from Riley Moreno tied the score 15 all and Lauer knocked down a kill to put AU ahead for the first time at 16-15.
- The set would go extra time with the Spartans eventually winning 30-28.
- The third set was all AU as they led the entire time.
- Torres had seven kills and hit .700 in the third set winner.
- AU was victorious 25-18 and 3-0 in the match.
