The Aurora University women's basketball team took on Hanover College in the Hyatt Place Tournament hosted by Augustana College. The Spartans came home with hardware after defeating Hanover College 60-59 led by a double-double from
Selena Vargas.

- The Spartans scored the games first points 3:14 into the first quarter on a pair of free throws from
Selena Vargas.
- Back-to-back three's from
Gabrielle Wolff and
Kamryn Bullock along with a Vargas basket pushed the AU lead to 12-2 with 3:47 left on the clock.
- With a pair of buckets from
Riley Doggett, AU led 16-6 after one quarter.
- The Spartans came out strong in the second and midway through had their largest lead at 27-10.
- Hanover would finish the quarter on an 11-0 run as AU went cold from the field but still led 27-21 going to halftime.
- In the third the Spartans had their hands full with Hanover, who was receiving votes in the D3hoops.com preseason poll.
- AU trailed for the first time in the game late in the third and would head to the fourth down two at 41-39.
- Trailing by five with 5:54 left in the game, the Spartans mounted their comeback.
- The Spartans would out score Hanover 13-7 in the final 5:54 with five points from
Eliot Dojutrek.
- With 1:56 left, Doggett drained a three to put AU ahead by two at 56-54.
- After Hanover made a three-point play to go up one, Dojutrek hit a free throw and
Macy Kocen made her second basket of the day to put the Spartans ahead by two.
