The Aurora University men's hockey team headed to Dubuque, Iowa for the first time to square off with the Spartans of the University of Dubuque who is in the first year of sponsoring hockey. AU won game one of the weekend set 4-1 over Dubuque.

- 3:04 into the game, AU fell behind with Dubuque scoring.
- It took AU just 16 seconds to tie the game though as
Jakson Kirk scored with an assist from
Lukas Sedlacek.
- Just over four minutes later and after killing off the games first power play, the AU Spartans struck.
- Sedlacek scored the eventual game winning goal with a helper from
Chayce Schmidt.

- Early in the second AU had a four minute power play but couldn't muster up a goal with the extra skater.
