Spartans drop non-conference match-up with UWL

The Aurora University men's basketball team returned to Lancaster Court inside Thornton Gymnasium on a quick turnaround of a back-to-back game with hosting the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse on Sunday afternoon. After opening a good lead early on, AU would fall behind and lose to the visiting Eagles 94-77.

How it happened
- The Spartans came out quick in the game and built a 19-9 lead with 11:46 left in the first-half.
- Dwayne Jervier Jr and Noah Butler each had seven points in the early lead.
- A 22-4 run from UWL over the next five minutes of game time saw the visitors take a 31-23 lead.
- Spartan Josh Holmes ran off the games next seven points and pulled AU to down one at 31-30 with five minutes left in the first-half.
- The teams went back and forth in the final minutes as AU would trail UWL 43-39 going to halftime.
- UWL opened the second-half on an 11-4 run to lead by double-digits on AU.
- Every time AU would cut into the lead, UWL seemed to have an answer back.
- The Spartan deficit was in double figures for the remaining time in the second and AU would fall 94-77.
