The Aurora University women's lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the 2023 season on Tuesday afternoon, a devastating 11-10 overtime loss to DePauw University.

- AU scored 1:41 into the game with Monique Gibson rattling the cage.
- With the game tied 1-1, Jalyn Yaukovitz and Brianna Peck scored to put the Spartans ahead 3-1 midway through the first.
- Yaukovitz added another late in the first to give AU a 4-2 lead.
- Gibson and two more Yaukovitz goals to start the second put the Spartans ahead 7-2 midway through the second.
- After a timeout, DePauw adjusted and scored two times late in the second.
- AU led 7-4 going to halftime.
- The third started out high scoring with two quick DePauw goal put AU up just 7-6.
- The scoring slowed with the Spartans and Bailey Simpson scoring the only other tally late in the quarter.
- Early in the fourth, Gibson scored her third of the day and AU led 9-6.
- Following a DePauw tally, Bailey SImpson scored with 8:10 left to put AU ahead 10-7.
- That ended the AU scoring and DePauw scored twice and with 4:17 to play, AU led 10-9.
- The Spartans maintained the one goal advantage into the final minute of play.
- After a loose ball was picked up by AU with just under 30 seconds left, the ball was turned over and DePauw jumped on the chance to tie the game.
- With the score tied 10-10, the contest went to overtime.
- AU and Gibson won the draw to start overtime and then both Gibson and Peck rattled the pipe on shot attempts.
- A free position shot was also stopped with an amazing kick save.
- DePauw would score with 54 seconds left to play in the first session of the first overtime.
- AU fell in overtime 11-10.
