Spartans dominant in road win

The Aurora University women's lacrosse team had another dominating performance in the NACC with a 21-1 victory at Marian University on Saturday morning.

How it happened
- The Spartans defense and Alexis Crowley pitched a shutout in the first-half while the offense opened up a 14-0 lead and got the running clock started.
- Bailey Simpson, Danielle Cobbett and Monique Gibson each scored in the opening 2:30 of the game.
- Jalyn Yaukovitz (2), Margaret Flanagan, Caley Russell and Jessica Boyland added first quarter goals for the 8-0 lead.
- A second goal of the game from Simpson three minutes into the second and the mercy running clock started with the 10-0 AU lead.
- Flanagan, Cobbett, Boyland, Yaukovitz and another from Simpson had AU ahead 14-0 going to halftime.
- AU led 18-0 late in the third when Marian scored the first and only goal of the game.
- Three more goals were tallied by the Spartans in the fourth for the 21-1 final score.
