Spartans remain unbeaten with win at Beloit

The Aurora University women's basketball team took to the road for the second time in the early season schedule, heading north to Beloit College and defeated the host Buccaneers 72-58.

How it happened
- The Spartans jumped out to a quick 10-4 lead with three's from Kylie Fischbach and Krystyna Manzaanarez.
- After a Fischbach free-throw gave AU a 16-8 lead, the hosts ran off an 8-0 run to tie the game late in the first.
- A three from Jennifer Heinberg ended the run and gave the Spartans the lead which they would maintain after one quarter at 19-18.
- The second quarter again saw the Spartans build a lead up to eight but Beloit would chip away and get back within one possession going to halftime.
- AU led 34-31 going to half.
- The Spartans came out firing in the third, fueled by a 14-2 run to open a 15-point lead.
- Eliot Dojutrek, Selena Vargas and Manzaanarez led the scoring run.
- An Aurora Eklund basket late in the third gave the Spartans a 52-43 lead going to the fourth.
- Another AU run, this one a 10-3 spurt opened the lead back to double-digits.
- The Spartans would lead by as many as 17 before going on to win 72-58.
