The Aurora University men's hockey team out-lasted a tough Augsburg University team in overtime to win 5-4 and win the Key City Collegiate Classic hosted by the University of Dubuque. The Spartans had to come from behind in the contest, trailing 3-1, getting three third period goals before the game-winner from
Landry Schmuck 37 seconds into overtime.

- The Spartans struck first in the contest on a power play.
Matt Weber got the games scoring started 6:20 in with assists from
Jake Code and
Mathis Bedard.
- A little over three minutes later Augsburg would score to tie the game.
- The game would remain tied 1-1 until late in the first.
- Augsburg scored a go-ahead goal with 4:30 remaining in the opening period.
- Just over 30 seconds after AU killed off a power play to start the second period, Augsburg scored to take a 3-1 lead.

- AU dominated action late in the third but the score would remain tied as the teams headed to three-on-three five minute overtime hockey.
- Augsburg got off the first shot of overtime but Spartan
JaCob Mucitelli corralled the shot in his glove.
- Seconds later the Spartans and Schmuck struck again
- The game-winning unassisted goal 37 seconds into overtime from Schmuck was the game winner and gave AU the 2024 Key City Collegiate Classic championship.
