The Aurora University women's basketball team used a strong start on Friday night to pickup a 74-70 win over Earlham College at Melissa Johnson / Hope Classic in Richmond, Indiana.

- The Spartans started out on fire, beginning the game on a 10-0 run. Riley Doggett netted five of those 10 for AU.
- Earlham responded with a 10-0 run of their own.
- AU scored 15 points in the final three minutes of the first quarter to take a 25-13 lead going into the second.
- Jennifer Heinberg caught fire during that stretch for the Spartans, nailing two three pointers.
- Krystyna Manzanarez joined in on the three point barrage early in the second, as AU held a commanding 36-18 lead about halfway through the second.
- Earlham would get back within 10 before the end of the half, as AU held a 44-34 lead going into the locker room.
- Each team traded baskets to start the third, as AU held on to a 53-51 lead going into the fourth.
- AU quickly regained a 57-51 lead in the fourth after four straight points from Kylie Fischbach.
- Earlham got back within one possession with just under four minutes to go, until Eliot Dojutrek knocked down a trey to make it 72-66.
- This helped the Spartans finish off the victory by a score of 74-70.
