Spartans bury Trolls

The Aurora University women's basketball team got out to a 10-0 lead after two and a half minutes of play and never looked back en route to their 87-52 victory at home in Thornton Gymnasium. Krystyna Manzanarez led AU with 19 points, as 14 different Spartans got into the scoring column on Tuesday night.

How it happened
- Krystyna Manzanarez started the game out on fire with eight points in the first two and a half minutes. This helped AU get out to an early 10-0 lead.
- That lead reached 14 by the end of the first quarter, as Alena Anderson layed one in before the end of the frame. 
- Manzanrez and the Spartans didn't slow down going into the second, as AU began the quarter on a 15-3 scoring run.
- The Spartans led 37-15 about halfway through the second.
- Danielle Antione scored the final two baskets of the half for AU, who took a commanding 45-20 lead going into the halftime break.
- The stifling Spartan defense allowed the Trolls to shoot only 27% in that second frame.
- Kylie Fischbach and Manzanarez paced the AU offense to begin the second half, scoring the first four baskets of the third quarter for the Spartans.
- AU took a 68-34 lead heading into the final quarter of play.
- The Spartans began the quarter on a 6-0 run that increased their lead to 40.
- Courtney Schuk and Jessica Oman nailed a couple of three's later in the fourth to help seal the deal in AU's 87-52 win.
- AU's bench outscored Trinity Christian's 43-17 to help the Spartans in their second-straight victory.
Alina Anderson, Riley Doggett, Selena Vargas and Kylie Fischbach each totaled three steals for AU.
