The Aurora University men's basketball team continued their three game road trip on Saturday afternoon, as they traveled to Marian University. AU went to overtime with the undefeated Sabres, but fell in the contest 72-64.

- Each team traded baskets to begin the game, as AU trailed 14-12 through the first 10 minutes. 
- Joevonn McCottry netted six of those first 14 points for the Spartans
- AU regained the lead later in the first half when McCottry slammed one home on a fast break. The Spartans led 22-20 with 3:28 remaining in the first half.
- Maxwell Marius buried a three on AU's last possession of the first half, tying the score at 27 going into the locker room.
- Despite the score being tied at the half, AU out shot the Sabres 45% to 38% in the first 20 minutes.
- Similar to the first half, each team traded baskets to begin the second half.
- Isaiah Davis started to get going later in the second half with back-to-back baskets. A lay-in from Davis re-gave AU the lead at 40-38 with 9:47 to go.
- Marian followed this five straight points of their own.
- With just over seven minutes remaining, Jeffery Hillmer knocked down a jumper as the Spartans regained a 45-43 lead.
- AU took a two possession lead with 2:34 on the clock after Dwayne Jervier Jr. layed one in. 
- Marian followed this with another 5-0 run to take a 53-52 lead at just over one minute on the clock.
- The Sabres made a three at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime with the score tied at 56.
- Hillmer knocked down three free throws in the beginning of overtime to give the Spartans a 59-58 lead.
- AU was outscored 12-4 in the remaining of overtime as they fell 72-64.
