Nine goal performance sees Spartans coast to win

The Aurora University men's hockey team rebounded from a non-conference defeat on Friday night. The Spartans exploded for nine goals with four Spartans collecting two goals each and five having three points in the 9-3 victory.

How it happened
- The Spartans fell behind 1:34 into the contest on a Bowdoin power play goal.
- AU then settled in and in the final 6:15 of the first period score four times.
- The first of the scoring run came with 6:15 left on a snipe from Juliano Santalucia. He was assisted by Chayce Schmidt and Jakson Kirk.
- 28 seconds later the Spartans took the lead and would not give it back on a goal from Jake Code. He was helped by Riley Dekowny and Andrew Schultz.
- A short time later the Spartans headed to the power play and took advantage with the third goal in 1:45 of game action.
- Landry Schmuck scored the power play goal with assists from Schmidt and Hassan Akl.
- Akl rounded out the first-period scoring with the eventual game-winning goal with 34 seconds left in the first. Schultz and Schmuck added assists.
- The Spartans led 4-1 after 20 minutes of play.
- Each team scored once in the second period with Bowdoin scoring at 7:18. 
- Just over a minute late the Spartans answered with Kirk scoring on assists from Lukas Sedlacek and Schmidt.
- Early in the third, Schmuck added an unassisted power play tally to put AU ahead 6-2.
- Midway through the third, Santalucia scored his second of the game with assists from Akl and Code.
- Code would add his second of the game a short time later with an assist from John Hallard.
- With just under three minutes left in the game, Kirk scored his second of the day with Jacob Brockman collecting the assist for a 9-2 AU lead.
- Bowdoin added a goal with 1:29 to play for the final score of 9-3 AU.
