The Aurora University women's lacrosse team opened up the 2024 season with a 17-15 road victory over Illinois Wesleyan University.
Danielle Cobbett led AU with four goals and five assists in the win.

- AU roared out to a 4-0 lead in the first 4:10 of game action with goals from
Danielle Cobbett,
Kenly Axvig, Syd Mann and
Caley Russell.
- Cobbett, Axvig and
Grace Pelletier added first quarter goals as AU led 7-4 after one.
- Cobbett and
Brianna Peck scored to open the second and AU led 9-5.
- The Peck goal was the first power play goal of the year for the Spartans.
- Axvig and
Nicolina Smith tallied goals and AU went to halftime leading 11-8.
- Power play goals from Axvig and Cobbett started the third and AU led 13-8.
- Late in the third, Peck and Cobbett would score again.
- Heading to the fourth, AU led 15-11.
- After the lead was cut to two at 15-13, Peck and Pelletier scored to give AU a four goal lead (17-13) with 10:56 left in the game.
- AU allowed a power play goal with 10:17 left but the defense tightened up and except for a goal with just 46 seconds left, AU didn't allow IWU much room.
- The Spartans celebrated the road win, 17-15.
