The Aurora University softball team hosted Alverno College for a doubleheader on Monday evening at Bedrosian Stadium, making up for the twin bill that was originally scheduled on Sunday afternoon at Alverno. The Spartan offense exploded for a total 16 runs in the second inning for the game one victory (5 inn.) before falling in game two by a score of 7-2.

GAME ONE:
- In the top of the second, Jordan Seyfried laced a double off the center field wall that scored Casey Brennan.
- A couple of batters later, Seyfried came around to score on a wild pitch making it 2-0. 
- Tyler Chambers roped a triple down the right field line that brought home two more runs.
- With two outs still in the second, Alex Thiel singled home Chambers to give AU the 5-0 lead.
- Back-to-back run scoring doubles from Kionna King and Shelby Linn extended the Spartan lead to 7-0.
- Still with two outs in the second, Seyfried singled home two more runs.
- Alyson Haegele kept rally going with a single that brought home Seyfried for AU's 10th run.
- Aubrey Ortiz got in on the offensive outburst with a single up the middle that scored Haegele. 
- The very next batter Faith Biggs launched a ball over the left field wall for her sixth home run of the year. This gave the Spartans a 13-0 lead.
- The second inning rally continued when Lily Komperda singled followed by a King two-run bomb. AU finished the second inning with 16 runs scored in the frame.
- AU starter Rylee Campbell exited the game after two innings of shutout ball.
- Alverno scored one run in the third to make it 16-1.
- Megan Murphy finished off the visitors with two scoreless innings after allowing the one run in the third.
- This allowed AU to pickup the 16-1 victory in five innings.

GAME TWO:
- Alverno scored the game's first run in the bottom of the first for a 1-0 lead.
- Biggs tied the game in the top of the third with a triple, nearly clearing the wall for a homer.
- Alverno took a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning.
- A Thiel single in the sixth allowed Chambers to score and cut AU's deficit to 3-2. 
- Alverno came back with four runs in the seventh for a 7-2 lead.
- The Spartans were unable to get a rally going in the seventh and fell to the visitors 7-2.
