The Aurora University women's soccer team was back at Spartan Athletic Park, this time squaring off against the Firebirds of Carthage College on Sunday afternoon. After taking an early lead thanks to a long strike from
Samantha Velasco, AU fell behind and was not able to comeback in the second half in the 2-1 loss.

- It took the Spartans all but nine minutes to find the back of net, as
Dahlia Perez set up
Samantha Velasco for a 20 yard strike and 1-0 AU lead.
- Carthage scored a goal in the 15th minute to knot the score back at one.

Lauren Bliefernicht almost put AU ahead on the 19th minute as she shifted around a couple of defenders and put a shot on goal, but was unable to find the back of the net.
- AU saw a final first half scoring opportunity in the 43rd minute when
Sydnie Thomson fired one at the net, but couldn't find the back of the net.
- This kept the score tied at 1 going into the break.
- The Firebirds took a 2-1 lead in the 51st minute.

Kyra Karrer almost answered back in the 57th minute, but could not tie the score at two.
- AU didn't see another scoring opportunity until the 86th minute when Velasco struck one towards the net, but it was saved by the Carthage goalkeeper.
- The Spartans would end up falling 2-1.
