The Aurora University women's volleyball team hit the court on Friday afternoon in Chicago for a couple of non-conference battles, taking on the #20 ranked Vikings of North Park university and the #18 ranked Knights of Calvin University. The Spartans fell to North Park 3-1 (16-25, 25-20, 18-25, 20-25) and were later downed by Calvin 3-0 (22-25, 22-25, 26-28).

MATCH ONE
- Despite three kills each from
Kate Dillon and
Riley Moreno, AU fell in the first set 25-16.
- The Spartans answered back in the second set by getting out to a 7-3 lead.
- AU held just an 18-17 lead later in the set when
Trinity Nelson stepped to the service line. When she was finished, the Spartans had a 23-17 lead.
- The Spartans wound up winning the second set 25-20 after hitting .250 as a team.
- AU saw a similar run later in the third set after scoring nine straight points headlined by three aces from
Rosie Karl.Â
- Despite the scoring run, the Spartans fell int he third set 25-18.
- Although AU held the Vikings to a .091 hitting percentage in the fourth set, North Park took the set 25-20.
- This resulted in a 3-1 match loss for the Spartans.
MATCH TWO
- AU was paced by seven
Riley Moreno kills in the first, but fell to the Knights 25-22.
- The Spartans continued to rally in a back-and-forth second set as they saw a lead as late as 18-16 in the frame.
- A late surge from Calvin downed AU in the second set by that same score of 25-22.
- AU hit a match-high .231 in the second set, but was unable to find the upper hand.
- Torres and Karl each hammered home three kills in the first half of the third set, but AU saw a 12-9 deficit.
- The Spartans saw a 22-16 deficit when
Marie Reichman stepped to the service line. When she was done, AU trailed by just one.
- AU saw a 25-24 lead with a chance to force another set, but would end up falling 28-26.
- This resulted in a 3-0 match defeat for AU.
